LA Electrician Electrocuted while doing Maintenance

WEBSTER PARISH, LOUISIANA – A Webster Parish School Board employee and Minden resident lost his life Thursday during a tragic accident at Webster Junior High School.

Ricky Hennigan, 48, an electrician who worked in the Maintenance Department of the school system, was killed by electrocution while working in the junior high gymnasium.

In a press release issued Thursday afternoon, Webster Parish Superintendent Wayne “Butch” Williams said, “The circumstances surrounding the accident are under investigation.”

Assistant Superintendent Jackie Sharp said investigators would be at the campus this morning.

“The cause will have to be investigated — to speculate at this time would be conjecture,” said Sharp.

Sharp said other members of the maintenance staff witnessed the accident, but no students were present.
Hennigan had been employed with the school system for a little over two years.

“On behalf of all members and employees of the Webster Parish School Board, I wish to send prayers and condolences to Ricky’s family and friends in this time of great sorrow,” Williams stated in the press release.
