AL Man Electrocuted at Qualico Steel

DOTHAN, ALABAMA- A 30-year-old man suffered injuries to his body Thursday afternoon when he was electrocuted at Qualico Steel in Webb.

Houston County Sheriff Andy Hughes said deputies responded to the electrocution report at Qualico Steel, located in the 7700 block of Alabama Highway 52. Hughes said someone performed CPR on the man just before he was taken to Southeast Alabama Medical Center for treatment.

A Georgia man has died from injuries he received when he was accicdentally electrocuted at a steel company in southeast Alabama.

Houston County Coroner Robert Byrd said 34-year-old Jamie Vickers of Jakin, Ga., died Friday at a Dothan hospital. He said the death was the result of Vickers being electrocuted while replacing a heating unit at Qualico Steel Co. in Webb on Thursday.
