Teen in Australia Electrocuted after Climbing Power Pole

MOUNT HUTTON, AUSTRALIA – While the cause of death is yet to be determined, police believe the teenager was electrocuted after his body was found at the base of a power pole early yesterday morning.

Friends attempted to resuscitate him but he couldn’t be revived.

Energy Australia spokesman Allyn Hammonet says the organisation is helping police with their investigations.

“We were on the site yesterday with police and crime scene detectives,” he said.

“We are certainly helping with the investigations.”

“It is terribly distressing that the message is wrapped in such a context but it is a clear warning that people need to stay away from electrical equipment.”

Mr Hammonet says it’s vital the community understands the dangers surrounding electrical infrastructure .

“Our people obviously had some very confronting circumstances to deal with yesterday in assisting police with their inquiries,” he said.

“The incident has again shed light on what’s a very important message and that is it is very important to stay away from electrical infrastructure.”

“It’s not a product you can see but you do need to understand that it is working.”
